This didn't seem like a big deal to me until i realized that Morrison, or Mo-town as it is called on south campus, was actually an awesome place to live. First off it's the most north and most conviniently close dorm on south campus. It is also large which means you are always meeting new cool people, and I found out the other day that if Mo-town were to not be closing next year that you could request the same suite and suitemates as this semester. This would be excellent because me and my suitemates have truly gotten along and become great friends; however, now we will probably have to split up and move all throughout campus. I know this campus is preparing for the future and I also know that morrison is falling apart, but I only wish they would have waited one more year before they kicked us out.

Chase Dining Hall

During my first semester here at carolina me and my suitemates ate at Chase dining hall on a regular nightly basis. Though we had it pretty much daily I never truly got sick of it nor could I ever smell the infamous "Chase" smell that radiated from one's clothing after a brief meal there. However, as the new semester has begun I have finally come to realize the, for lack of a better term, crapiness of Chase dining hall. They constantly serve the same things every night and much of the time there items are luke warm at best rather than hot. Also, the smell which I denied myself the opportunity to be introduced to first semester hit me on my very first visit there this semester and has haunted me ever since. Now, more than ever, I look forward to the new Ram's Head facility opening so that both the smell and food of chase can be crushed into my memory by way of a wrecking ball.

The Demise of the Lakers

My entire life, under the influence of my dad, I have been an L.A. Lakers fan. I was a fan before the titles and throughout them and have always looked to them as my favorite NBA team. However, recent events in the Lakers organization have made me seriously take a second look at how closely I associate myself with them. I am by no means a bandwagon fan in any sense of the word. These circumstances, however, were so wrong and severe that I dont know if can look past them. First Kobe Bryant gets convicted of rape after a visit to a Colorado hotel. This event only escalated the already rising tension amongst the players on the team. At the end of a good season that merely ended poorly with a loss in the NBA finals the management of the Lakers made a mistake that will come back to haunt them for many years to come. They decided to break up an amazing group of veteran players and their coach in order to keep one superstar player, Kobe Bryant, on the team. The ownership of this team took one the greatest coaches in the history of the NBA, Phil Jackson, along with three of the best players to play the game, Shaquille O'neal, Carl Malone, and Gary Payton and merely swept them away to make room for the giant ego of superstar Kobe Bryant. This move has broken up an amazing team and now left them to be beaten like they haven't experienced in over 5 years. Overall, the poor decisions by the ownership of the Lakers has convinced many fans to turn their backs on the organization and it has done nothing but hurt Kobe Bryant, the only player they were looking out for in the first place.

Procrastination

Though I feel like I am a good student and I guess I was worthy enough to be accepted in to UNC I sense that there has been a problem brewing up inside me for the past 3 or 4 years. This is of course procrastination. Now I'm not nieve enough to think that most people are not procrastinators, because I'm sure that most students wait until the last minute to get assignments and such done. I have found, especially since I've entered college, that doing your homework on a daily basis is almost impossible unless you have some serious will-power, and it is so easy to get behind in your work or reading. However, in my case it has become increasingly worse over the years. It really began to look bad when I did what was called our "9 weeks project" in english in approximately 48 hours. Since that time I have continued to procrastinate and I often wonder why I do it. It gives you no advantages and its much easier to get work done on a daily basis rather than let it build up. This is apparently a problem that I'm just going to have to face and correct before things get out of hand.

Carolina Sports

I was thinking the other day about how awesome this year in sports has been and will be as the year continues. Ever since I was a little kid I watched Carolina sports as much as possible, and now that I'm a student here, more than ever, I feel they are a big part of my life. What I really want to talk about is how amazing this year has truly been. It wasn't really the bowl game that we got into, although that was amazing, I was mostly impressed by the three huge wins against Georgia Tech, NC State, and especially Miami. Now that we move in to basketball season, and we have a combination of Roy Williams, a bench for once, and the best starting 5 in America we have the best shot at a national title game that we've had for quite some time. If we do win the national title it will probably be one of the coolest moments of my life, however, I believe I will soon know how the Red Sox fans feel. After the previous baseball season concluded it was realized that Boston Red Sox fans were no longer special, but are now just like any other baseball fan in America because the curse was lifted and they experienced such an amazing playoffs. Obviously not anywhere near the great extent that they felt it but barring some type of miracle I think that the next three years after this will be somewhat of a letdown. Now I am making a ton of assumptions about this year, however, if all things turn out as i said above you must admit it would be hard to find a year better than this, just as the fans up in Boston will be in a struggle to experience a better season than the last one.
